SUD for the Healthcare Team is an introductory-level course on substance use disorders designed to provide fundamental information for all staff working within a health care setting. The four modules, taken together, present information on SUD, its history and its treatment, including alcohol and opioid use disorders.
This curriculum is made up of four 1-hour modules. You may choose to complete the modules individually, however learners are strongly encouraged to complete all four modules in order as some of the content builds on information presented in prior modules. Learners will receive credit for the completion of each individual module.

American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Approval is valid until November 2, 2024. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP) is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. AAAP maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive 1 continuing education credit.
