Webinar Description: Join this 1.5‑hour live virtual session to learn about common conditions that complicate opioid withdrawal management in emergency department and hospital settings. The session will address co‑occurring medical and psychiatric conditions and provide practical strategies for managing complex withdrawal cases. Participants will explore real‑world scenarios through case examples led by addiction experts, applying key concepts to clinical practice.

This activity is part of a 4-session online case-based learning collaborative series on treating opioid use disorder. Discover best practices in treating OUD and delve into real-world cases provided by addiction experts, applying knowledge to practical situations. Sessions, presented live virtually, are 1.5 hours each.

Educational Objectives:

  • Describe common conditions that complicate management of opioid withdrawal (e.g., StUD)
  • Highlight strategies to effectively manage complicated opioid withdrawal
  • Discuss case examples of opioid withdrawal syndrome, highlighting common challenges, gaps in evidence, and practical approaches.
