Webinar Description: The prevalence of opioid use disorder (OUD) among older adults in the United States is rising, but remains underdiagnosed, underreported, and inadequately managed. Older adults with OUD often have medical comorbidities and are at higher risk of complications. This webinar provides guidelines for evaluating older adults with OUD, the management of opioid withdrawal syndrome and maintenance treatment of OUD, including MOUD and psychosocial interventions.

Educational Objectives:

  • To provide an overview of the demographics, and comorbidities among older adults on MOUD
  • To understand how these comorbidities impact treatment
  • To understand social and cultural barriers to MOUD
  • To review clinical guidelines for MOUD in older adults
