Webinar Description:

This 6-episode webinar series will explore comprehensive approaches to opioid treatment, covering public health strategies, the roles of medical professionals, addiction psychiatrists, counselors, peer support, and ethical considerations for justice-involved individuals.

Our fifth webinar in this series sheds light on the vital contributions of peer support specialists in the interdisciplinary approach to opioid use disorder treatment. These individuals who have walked a similar path offer invaluable understanding and guidance. Learn how peers play an essential role in fostering hope, building community, and achieving lasting recovery.

Educational Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to explain the unique role of the peer in providing treatment for opioid use disorder.
  • Participants will be able to describe ways that peers collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participants will be able to state four techniques essential to success as a peer supporting someone with an opioid use disorder.
