Begin the 16 Hour Buprenorphine Training
The American Psychiatric Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
At the end of the 8 hour and 16 hour buprenorphine training courses, you will receive a course completion certificate for 8.0 nursing continuing professional development contact hours (8.0 contact hours in pharmacology) and 16.0 nursing continuing professional development contact hours (16.0 contact hours in pharmacology) provided by APNA.
Note: If you registered for the 16 Hour Buprenorphine Training course prior to February 24, 2020, please use this link to continue through the course.
In addition, Boston Medical Center’s (BMC) Office Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) Training and Technical Assistance (TTA), in collaboration with PCSS, conducts the 16 hours of training in 2-hour increments for Advanced Practice Practitioners. Trainings can be taken in any order, so don’t worry if you’ve missed any. New dates for those trainings missed will be posted in a timely manner. BMC keeps track of which modules have been completed.

Half and Half (In-Person) Training
APRNs sign up for and attend a 4 hour live training taught by a clinical expert in their area. Once completed, participants receive the second half of the course – a 4 hour online self-study portion. At the end of the course, participants are required to pass an exam with a 75% or higher.
Half and Half (Webinar)
APRNs sign up for and attend a 4 hour virtual webinar via computer taught by a clinical expert. Once completed, participants receive the second half of the course – a 4 hour online self-study portion. At the end of the course, participants are required to pass an exam with a 75% or higher.
8 Hour Full Day Training
APRNs sign up for and attend a full day training led by a clinical expert in various locations throughout the year. View calendar of events to search for upcoming 8 hour in-person trainings in your area.
8 Hour Online Pediatric Buprenorphine Training
This 8 hour fully online course was specifically designed for providers who specialize in pediatrics seeking to prescribe buprenorphine. The course focuses on adolescent opioid use disorder and consists of 6 modules and a 20 question exam at the end.
