
Apply for these prestigious Awards for American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry’s 37th Annual Meeting and Scientific Symposium. All Travel Award winners receive at least one year of free AAAP membership and free registration to the 37th Annual Meeting in Memphis, TN this November!
Submissions will close on June 24th.
Note: Those who have previously been awarded an AAAP Travel Award of any kind are not eligible to receive another Travel Award.
Additionally, all awardees are required to attend the Annual Meeting, November 12th – 15th, 2026.
John Renner Travel Award
Given to medical students, residents, and fellows who are interested in learning about substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
Winners receive free registration to the 37th Annual Meeting, one free year of AAAP membership, and covered travel expenses to the 37th Annual Meeting.
Regional & International Travel Award
This award is given to current medical students, residents, or fellows who have demonstrated clinical or academic work that focuses on Addiction Psychiatry, can show leadership in the field, and are enrolled in an ACGME or another accredited psychiatry residency program. Awardees host an educational activity in their area after the Annual Meeting.
This award is designed to give Trainees the opportunity to lead their own educational activity under the mentorship of their AAAP Area Director. Dedicated trainee leaders are encourage to apply for this valuable opportunity, and support Addiction Psychiatry within their geographical region.
Winners receive free registration to the 37th Annual Meeting, one free year of AAAP membership, and covered travel expenses to the 37th Annual Meeting.
Early Career Research Award
Given to residents, fellows, or early-career psychiatrists. Awardees are chosen based on the quality of original research in the field of substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric disorders.
The awardee will present their work at the annual meeting, receive one-year AAAP membership, one-year free registration to the 37th Annual Meeting, and covered travel expenses to the 37th Annual Meeting.
