Webinar Description:

This 6-episode webinar series will explore comprehensive approaches to opioid treatment, covering public health strategies, the roles of medical professionals, addiction psychiatrists, counselors, peer support, and ethical considerations for justice-involved individuals.

In the fourth part of this series, we will delve into the indispensable role of counselors within the interdisciplinary care framework for opioid use disorder. Discover the techniques and strategies they use to provide emotional and psychological support, helping individuals navigate the complex path to recovery.

Educational Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to explain the unique role of the counselor in providing treatment for opioid use disorder.
  • Participants will be able to describe ways that counselors collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Participants will be able to state four techniques essential to success as a counselor supporting someone with an opioid use disorder.
