Speaker: Edward Bilsky, PhD

About the Webinar: Opioid agonists remain a mainstay for the treatment of acute and chronic pain. Controversies abound on the use of opioids with concerns about health consequences, diversion and prescription opioid abuse and addiction. Opioid antagonists also have several indications for their use in the treatment of opioid overdose, addiction and management of opioid-related side effects. This webinar will provide updates from the medical literature that can help guide decision-making in choosing an appropriate agent. New discoveries in the preclinical literature will also be discussed along with work being done at the University of New England around patient advocacy and community education.

Note: This archived webinar is not designated for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
